Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear medicine is a branch of radiography in which a small amount of radioisotope is ingested in the body that is attracted by abnormal (cancerous) cells.
When inspected using a diagnostic imaging unit such as a gamma camera or PET/CT, abnormal cells can be identified and thoroughly inspected
Radiation shielding in a typical nuclear medicine application requires lead thickness of between 4 and 30mm Pb.
